Today, laser epilation (permanent hair removal) is the most sustainable and gentle method of hair removal and works according to the principle of ‘thermo-selectivity’. This means that the energy of the laser beam is only absorbed in the pigment-containing structures, such as the hair follicles, due to its physical properties. As a result, the affected hair follicle is heated, the hair root is cauterised, the hair falls out and no new hair grows back from this follicle. The treatment is most effective on untanned, light-coloured skin with dark hair. At Dr Zodan's practice, laser epilation is performed with the MedioStar, a medical diode laser.

Only hair roots of hairs that are in the growth phase can be lasered per treatment, which is approx. 20 %. The treatment must therefore be repeated several times. Depending on the skin and hair type, localisation on the body and individual requirements, 3-10 treatments are necessary. These lead to a significant reduction in hair - however, complete freedom from hair cannot be guaranteed. The thicker the hair, the more follow-up treatment is required as maintenance therapy. The treatment itself is occasionally slightly painful but usually only unpleasant. The interval between sessions is at least 4-8 weeks, depending on the body area.

Important: The hair must not have been plucked or epilated before the treatment and exposure to the sun must be avoided. In contrast to conventional methods such as shaving or waxing, which only provide temporary results, laser epilation offers a permanent solution.

In PRP therapy, the patient's own blood is taken and centrifuged to isolate the platelet-rich plasma (PRP). This plasma contains a high concentration of growth factors and proteins that promote the healing and regeneration of tissue. Immediately after the PRP is produced, it is injected into the scalp to stimulate the hair follicles and promote hair growth.

The treatment itself is unpleasant but does not require anaesthesia. As the plasma used comes from the patient's own blood, allergic reactions are ruled out. The increased concentration of growth factors stimulates cell regeneration and improves blood flow to the scalp, strengthening the hair follicle and slowing down hair loss.

PRP has become firmly established in the treatment of hair loss and has been scientifically tested in many studies. The number of sessions required can vary depending on the individual situation. However, at least 4 sessions every 2 weeks are recommended.

A fruit acid peel is a chemical procedure that renews the skin and improves its appearance. It reduces skin impurities, pigmentation disorders and refines pores. The natural fruit acid (glycolic acid) penetrates the upper horny layer of the skin, loosens the bonds between the dead skin cells, which leads to a faster shedding of these cells. The result is smoother, more radiant skin with a more even appearance. Each skin is individual and responds differently to such a treatment cycle, with different aesthetic results. By repeating the treatment every 4 weeks, it is possible to stimulate cell renewal in the depth of the skin and significantly reduce or even completely eliminate pigmentation spots.

A fruit acid peel can offer further benefits. It not only helps to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, but also acne and hyperpigmentation.

The treatment is usually painless and does not require a long downtime. However, there may be some temporary redness or a slight burning sensation after the peel. It is important to use sunscreen after the treatment as the skin becomes more sensitive to UV rays.

Microneedling has established itself as one of the most effective methods of skin regeneration. In this minimally invasive treatment, fine needles are used to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. This stimulates the body's own collagen and elastin production, which leads to a visible improvement in skin structure and elasticity and reduces fine lines and wrinkles.

The versatility of microneedling allows it to be used on different skin types and to treat problems such as acne scars, large pores or stretch marks. The treatment usually takes 45 to 60 minutes (depending on the size of the treated skin area) and is well tolerated; an anaesthetic cream can also be used if desired.

The skin may be slightly reddened after the treatment, but this subsides quickly. Another advantage of microneedling treatment is the increased effectiveness of the substances (hyaluronic acid, PRP, polynucleotides) that penetrate the skin's microchannels during microneedling.

Acne is common and there are different types of acne. Traditional treatment methods are lengthy and sometimes associated with considerable side effects. Treatment with the laser offers an effective, non-medicated alternative and is therefore also suitable for people who wish to have children or for those who do not wish to take vitamin A preparations or other medications or who cannot tolerate them. The method is also suitable for treating larger areas such as the back, shoulders and chest.

The laser beam penetrates deep into the skin and develops its thermal effect in the hair follicle. This inactivates and eliminates bacteria and fungi, which are considered local triggers of acne, and at the same time reduces the activity of the sebaceous glands. This method can be used to treat blackheads, pustules and acne inversa (hydradenitis suppurativa) at an early stage.

The treatment can be painful due to the inflammation caused by the acne. The treated area is then cooled with a cooling mask. After the treatment, direct exposure to the sun or solarium should be avoided, or a sun cream with a protection factor of 50 must be applied. This is important to prevent hyperpigmentation.
